Workflow 03 / Content
LinkedIn Content Research Workflow
Turns market signals, customer problems and industry developments into structured content research inputs.
The LinkedIn Content Research Workflow is a seven-step process that turns sales conversations, industry developments and category disagreements into a research-backed queue of LinkedIn topics, each with one defined claim, the evidence it requires and a traceable link to the company's positioning. One cycle takes roughly 2–3 hours.
Why It Exists
Content calendars run dry because topics are invented rather than sourced. This workflow treats topic generation as a research process with repeatable inputs, so the pipeline refills itself.
Tools
Inputs
- Recent sales call notes
- Support and onboarding themes
- Industry developments
- Positioning and messaging framework
The Workflow
Run it in order.
- 01
Mine the sales conversations
Objections, questions and misunderstandings from recent calls are the highest-signal topic source available.
- 02
Collect industry movement
Regulation, funding, consolidation, technology shifts — anything changing the buyer's environment.
- 03
Identify the disagreements
Where does your point of view differ from the consensus? Agreement is not memorable.
- 04
Check against positioning
Every topic must reinforce the positioning. Interesting but off-message is still off-message.
- 05
Define the claim
Each topic reduces to one claim that can be argued, not a subject area.
- 06
Note the evidence required
What proof, example or experience makes the claim credible when written.
- 07
Queue with a rationale
Each item enters the calendar with the reason it exists, so production never starts from a blank page.
Outputs
What it produces.
- Research-backed topic queue
- One defined claim per topic
- Evidence requirement per claim
- Traceable link from topic to positioning
Run It With Your AI
Install this workflow as an agent skill.
The same steps, packaged so your AI agent can run them with you: it asks for the inputs above, works through each step and produces the outputs in one document.
- Claude (web or desktop): download the .zip, then open Settings → Capabilities → Skills and upload it.
- Claude Code: unzip it into
~/.claude/skills/(or a project's.claude/skills/). - ChatGPT Codex: unzip it into
~/.agents/skills/(or a repository's.agents/skills/). - Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and others: add the folder to that tool's skills directory (see agentskills.io (opens in a new tab)).
- Then just ask. For example: “Build a month of research-backed LinkedIn topics for our founder”. The agent loads the skill when the task matches.
